Bolded literally doesn't happen half the time. Atheists are distrusted and actually face discrimination even here in the west, to say nothing of more... devout countries.

Can you really not think why someone would question why someone would deprive themselves of the most basic of human needs? If one is ignorant of Islam (or any other reason to fast) then it's a rational question.
