Bob Hoskins is my spirit animal when it comes to my disdain for the original SMB Movie. It admittedly has a
couple
jokes that still make me chuckle (mostly from Iggy and Spike), but overall I will never accept it as having 'so-bad-it's-good' camp value.
Another funny anecdote was when Dennis Hopper's then-8-year-old son asked him why he did the SMB movie. "To buy you shoes," Hopper replied. "I didn't need shoes
that
badly," the kid fired back.
Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read.
