No, never met one.

But a few weeks ago, I was at a party, and someone there did sincerely think the Earth was flat.
they did ? could they provide any reasoning for this though? maybe not

No.

Ive met a few people over the years who think the moon landings were fake, somebody who genuinely believed pyramids were built by aliens and other such nonsense but never anybody who doesnt believe in evolution, to my knowledge.

I dunno, probably. I dont go around asking people that.
Getting high and playing video games is the best! I swear to ducking God!
I tend to avoid such people. I probably do.

But I went to a catholic school and they were more busy telling us that we'll go to hell if we ever touch our wee wee
there there def. were no sex ed classes in these schools right? Did they also really talk about not using birth control , or against this kinda stuff?
I have two friends that don't believe in evolution. And don't worry I've had a massive go at both of them about it
You address me by my proper title, you little bollocks.
Yes, I don't think my parents do, and I had friends growing up that didn't. I was raised evangelical so I didn't for a time as well, but I do now and can't stand evangelical lies.

I currently only know of one; my super hardcore Christian coworker. But thats more because shes just overall incredibly stupid than the fact that shes religious. Like comically stupid. Like Im fairly certain grade schoolers are smarter than her.

I'm sure I do, but it has never come up in conversation. But among everyone I've actually discussed the topic with, they have believed in evolution, including my very Christian parents.

I don't remember them talking about birth control. It was basically "you gonna burn for eternity if you're horny" and forced confessions every week
you are still religious now though?
I dont believe in anything.

I went to a catholic school as well but we were taught Evolution. Also we had intro to sex education at 5th grade that taught hygiene and other basics and then in 8th grade we had a more indepth sex ed that actually went into diseases and prevention.

Yeah, I was when I was younger and still am a bit. The indoctrination is hard to completely shake and Jesus wasn't a bad dude. I realize there probably are no gods, but I still consider myself a Christian. I haven't been to church in over 15 years, though.

I will say I absolutely despise the the religious right, and believe we would absolutely be better off without them. We probably would be all better off without religion, but there can be good aspects to them.

And I'll say that after graduating from my school in 8th grade and going to a public HS I haven't gone into a church outside of baptisms, weddings, and funerals. I came out as a lesbian as a sophomore in HS and never once looked back on my Catholic upbringing. It did help though that my experience with my school was much better than others mostly because the staff and even the priest were pretty progressive hence we learned about evolution and actually had some sex education.

Lol, I went to a religious school as a kid too. I had one incident when I was like, a little to curious and questioning stuff.

They asked me if I created a bunch of ants, and those ants chose to not believe in me, how would I feel? I swear I was not trying to be a smart ass, I was answering honestly, but I said I don't care what ants think, they're ants. I ended up getting disciplined for that.

Good times.
wonder how that convo even came up, or why they were asking you about ants. And to discipline you for answering like that?

maybe like in the south, those catholic schools might be much more conservative compared to like northeast , nyc

My wife, maybe. Never really asked her point blank bc I don't want to have that conversation.

My grandmother randomly went off on it one dinner a couple years before she died. I had never known her to be religious, so not sure if it was just some weird belief she held or something from her mental decline.

I can't fully remember, I was pretty young. I think I remember getting into a lot of trouble for questioning the existence of God. Like, it just didn't make sense to 10 year old me. Iirc, it was the principal of the school just trying to like "deal" with me, I think.

Nothing they did stuck clearly tho since I left the religion at 18 and was more than happy to do so.
did you leave catholic schools soon after that, or you like went to them up until you graduated h.s.? not sure why you would do that since you disliked them

It wasn't Catholic school. It was for a different religion. I was there for up until and including grade 5 (I think). Then I went to a regular school. Thank god too (pun intended lol), religious school kids are probably the most rude and poorly raised kids ever. At least the ones in my school were. Also went to a regular high school after.

The religious school did have a high school component built in as well, but I never made it there.
Have heard private schools , like middle schools are very frequently better than public. And almost all private schools are religious, right?

The one I went to was a private school for sure.

I thought there were some private schools though just based on class, are all of them in America religious?
You are not in America? I am , iirc easily most are kinda religious iirc
My mom. She's an "old universe/young earth" creationist who believes the biblical civilizations were as or more technologically advanced than we are now, that dinosaurs were genetically engineered for their meat, and the pyramids were built by spaceships. I shit you not. I have never been able to make sense of her beliefs.

Pre-Noah's flood era. She believes the dinosaurs weren't allowed on the ark because they werent God's creation, and the Biblical flood is what wiped them out.

Something like that. Maybe older (like 10,000 years), but definitely not 3.5-4 billion years old. And she believes the creation story in Genesis is literal. God poofed all the animals into existence, created Adam from the earth, created Eve from Adam's rib, the garden, the snake, all that nonsense.
