Also. I wanted to let everyone know I beat the Sins of the Father Quest in OSRS. Vanstrom Klause was the most difficult boss I have fought in OSRS by a significant margin and I've done 130+ Quests. Luckily I got him on my second try. Went in with 12 Sharks/12 Karambwan (for 1 tick eating) with a Super Restore and Super Combat Potion as well as Bronze Knives for the Exploding Pet and an Emergency Teleport. Used the Piety and Protect from Magic prayers to give myself the best chance. Had Proselyte armour Top/Bottom for extra prayer duration as well as stuff like Helm of Neitiznot, Berserker Ring (I), Barrows Gloves, Fury Necklace, Ardougne Cloak 2, and of course the Blisterwood Flail needed to actually damage him.
Hardest parts of the fight was the Phase 1 "stare into my darkness" or whatever he says and the Phase 2 lightning. Both were difficult to dodge, particularly the former. First time I did the fight I got hit by the former 2-3 times and got hit by lightning twice and had to teleport away with Vanstrom at less than 10% of his health...so close!!! Second time I got hit by the former IIRC once and by the lightning twice and beat him with all my food used up and with less than 10 hitpoints. It was close...but I got him!
Maybe it would have been easier if I had used my Void Knight Melee setup as it has significantly better magic defense (Protect from Magic doesn't give full protection). However, I had a higher max hit with Helm of Neitiznot + Barrows Gloves and the Proselyte armour let me keep Piety + Protect from Magic up the whole fight even with just 1 Super Restore. Not really sure in retrospect which was the better option, but the non-Melee Void Knight setup worked for me. Not bad considering my Att/Str/Def were 70/74/70, which is below what a lot of other people had when they beat Vanstrom Klause.
Also, I hope this isn't the last Myreque/Vampyre quest, as it has been my favorite OSRS storyline by far. Sins of the Father came out almost 4 years ago, so I hope Jagex hasn't forgotten about the questline. After all, it kind of ended on a depressing note. Judging by what non-OSRS Runescape did, we have room for probably 2 more quests. One where
Lowerniel Drakan
gets taken down and another where we deal with the aftermath with
Vanescula and Safalaan
. That's assuming everything plays out like in Main-Runescape though. At any rate, apparently Jagex did confirm that this isn't the last quest in the storyline, so fingers crossed for now. Got plenty of other stuff to do, like finishing all the quests (about 30 to go) and getting a maxed out house to speed up skilling and bossing. Lots to do!
