My favorite manga author since I was a child, worked on my favorite game if all time Chrono Trigger. I really loved Dragon Ball but I so liked Dr. Slump and his one shots. This one really hurts. It feels unreal. RIP. Words are failing me.

He may not have not made the best decisions as the years went on, but DBZ remains one of the stars that makes up the night sky of my youth.

This hurts Dragonballs was that manga that got me through a lot of hard times. Thank you for giving us such a great story and characters and Sand Lot and Dr. Slump.

Yeah i agree. It's the character writing that is my issues mostly, but still hsi death hits harder.

I just remembered me as child picking up the manga and begging my parents to have the entire 42 original volume and i read them over and over and over and over growing up.

There is also dragon quests, chrono trigger, they also aired old ass dr. Slump anime in my country. Those old memories rising up again. Despite everything his creations are my best friend growing up.

I'm legit sad. I loved all the works Toriyama-Sensei produced. Dragon Ball, Dr. Slump, Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest and Blue Dragon. His works got me hooked to anime and reading manga. Always looked forward to DragonBall Z eps on Toonami. Bought the games, went to watch Battle of Gods day one. And only at 68? Sigh. Time waits for no one.

Thank you for everything you done in your industry and creating such a legendary franchise. May you rest in power and my condolences to his family.

I believe in the Golden Rule and you should too!

This man shaped a huge part of my childhood, and instilled within me a love of manga, anime, animation, and more. He's responsible for drawing me into a world that I still love to this day. His creations brought me untold joy and excitement, and I think the world has lost a beautiful creative soul.

I am going to miss his new stories, his new characters, and his sustained influence over the art form. So many of the creators whose works I love were initially inspired by Toriyama. Some of them have already given their heartfelt messages.

I just want it to be known that I am hurt today. This is the most significant creative figure from my childhood to have died so far in my lifetime. I would have grown up to be a completely different person without him.

I don't think it's realistic to expect that the series will rest until it enters the public domain or anything like that but I do think there should be a break in new stories for a few years once Diama and Super have concluded.
