my girlfriend doesn't want to be alone with them...So suck it up and do her the simple kindness. I get the anxiety factor (boy howdy, do I ever), but I've found that framing such outings as being there for someone I care about helps it not be about my dumb head.

My wife and my sister wanted to go to Trader Joe's and I asked if I could come along. Eventually they reluctantly agreed. But then they waited until I was on the crapper and snuck off without me. They said they yelled out "we are leaving now, are you coming or not?" and I didn't answer.
