Its obvious what that user is doing, and the TOS needs to specify nipping shit in the bud as a valid reason for moderation.

It would have saved us years of TonyKojima, among others.

I think it's more the fact that you are trying to have an opinion over something you are telling people you don't pay attention to makes you look ignorant. This is like me going into an NBA topic watching a half of a game in the last 10 years and trying to argue who the best player is. Why even bother.

Not everyone is a straight white Christian male with money. Not everyone has the benefit of simply being able to ignore politics.

If you mean like the points I've raised in this topic about not voting, yeah I'll be doing that for sure. I've been doing that for 4 years. I'm sure either a 3rd party vote or no vote at all is a red vote as far as your concerned.

More proof you know exactly what youre doing. They used to call that trolling and people would get modded for it.

It is. We need every vote to fend off Trump. The fact you don't understand what Project 2025 is doesn't make it less dangerous. Even you will suffer if Trump wins. You will regret not voting someday

What do you mean "proof I know what I'm doing". I already stated my opinion in my other posts.

My first post was in agreement with TC, it's stupid that these conservatives shouted "It was rigged!" But then they're running right back to the polls lmao

The topic is about people who by all logic shouldn't be voting. The truth is, they still have too much faith in the system. I tried to use 2020 to get my conservative friends on board with not voting. Maybe worked on 1/10th of them who are now like me. Most are going to head right back up to the polls in November, despite supposedly believing the election was rigged.

This makes sense then, both regarding their posts in this topic and the one about Republicans saying they wont vote Trump.

The both sides bad I vote neither! card has been played to death by now.

Large swaths of people NOT voting is the most powerful statement we can make

It actually accomplishes literally nothing.

Well, that's not true.

All you actually accomplish is holding the country back from having the overwhelmingly sane party, with the potential to become progressive, maintain steady control over government, causing this wishy washy back and forth which over time has taken us to the precipice of Christo-fascist rule that we must now contend with for every foreseeable election.

I 100% guarantee you neither party gives a single shit about you and millions others not voting, referencing the traditional bloc of millions of non-voters in every election, and are not changing policies or practices based off of it, all you're doing is shooting yourself in the foot and neutering what little political power civilians possess.

A refresher to folks, this is what Trump didn't want in the months leading up to the 2020 election, by fear mongering mail in ballots, because even he knew that more people voting would end up screwing him over.

Republicans haven't won the popular vote in twenty years, their policies are increasingly unpopular and they've been reduced to running on culture war nonsense--- in addition to making it more difficult to vote.

So no, less people voting doesn't send the most powerful message, it just plays into GOP fear mongering and you're either a victim of that or you know precisely what you're trying to do here with that take (and have been rightly called out on it).

Love how you post that without referencing anything lmao. It doesn't matter either way. It doesn't make a difference to tell the truth that I'm not voting for Trump, so I might as well (on CE) just be a Trump voter. Fine by me. I didn't vote in the presidential election in 2020, and I won't be again in 2024. That simple.

Yeah but now you shouldn't need to worry as much right, since there will be many more previously Republican voters who have lost faith because they think the last election was rigged. They havent won the popular vote and there will be even less votes now. It's an easy win.

They didn't trust the mail in process, because Trump told them not to. The GOP instead wants people to vote in person, preferably at a single ballot box in a county, waiting in a line on a work day- this way they ensure that less people have access to voting.

Sure I hope that disenfranchised Republicans sit it out due to ignorance, that would be swell. I doubt they will given how the difference in 2020 was only 7 million, which is why blanket statements encouraging people to not vote is a GOP strategy that shouldn't be listened to. Complacency is how they win. But I'm sure you already knew that with your "most powerful" suggestion to not vote.

Well to be fair, I lean right, I talk to more conservatives regularly than I do on here, and I literally do tell them that exactly what you're quoting. I say it to them too. I think whichever side says "We're done" first is going to be at a big advantage.

However, most of them respond similarly to the people here "Well you might not like the system but we gotta do what we can to keep the Democrats out if we're gonna keep the country alive". So, yeah, you're right that they're still probably gonna show, At least 80% or more is my guess.
I can't see their posts anymore, is that Trumper still at it?

Anyway, back to the question at hand:

Why are the people who say the election was rigged still voting?
Only answer is they still have faith in the system.

So apparently their faith hasn't been shaken enough. My question is, what will it take to move the right to the position where they say "We don't even give a shit anymore." ? I'm open to suggestions on things to try.

I'd be willing to bet that *most people parroting the election fraud/stolen election crap don't actually believe it.

*An alarming amount probably still however do

They don't, they instead believe in playing the victim and seeing what will stick. So far that has not been going so well for them. You can see how excited they get when the supreme court took up the presidential immunity argument while the GOP are pushing on with their clown show of impeaching Biden "just cuz". That contrast shows you all you need to know how morally bankrupt they are.

They are scared as hell that history has been leaning progressive for the past century and they are losing ground for their bigoted isolationist bullshit.

Ive actually seen people argue against this point. They say the dems couldnt cheat down ballot because itd either be too obvious or they simply just underestimated the votes from republicans.

So the dems are apparently strong enough to cheat the presidential election, but too incompetent to do it without leaving the clues, and also couldnt affect any other ballots lmao

They did the same thing with Hillary Clinton. Apparently Hillary only won the popular vote because the Democrats rigged it for her but were also simultaneously too stupid to rig it in the states that cost her the electoral victory. In case you're wondering why Trump always says he loves the "poorly educated" so much.

Yeah, that was my favorite.

"Hillary rigged the election!"
"Well then why didn't she win?"
"Because her and the democrats are too stupid to know most votes doesn't win and they only did it in California!"
"You grew up eating lead covered powerlines didn't you."

I also realize that many conservatives will straight up retreat into delusional fantasy conspiracies instead of accepting reality. A worrying amount of people think its more likely for JFK to resurrect from the dead than for Trump to be grifting them.

I'm even more confused. I did misread that part of "whichever side says we're done is at an advantage", because complacent attitudes like that would put you at a significant disadvantage. Not voting doesn't give anyone an advantage. Your original "powerful statement" of swaths of people not voting doesn't give anyone an advantage.
