That made me laugh because in other shows, they might rely on the trope of the woman being "offended" that a guy calls every other woman a honey, but here it's preferable to the 70 year old man to refer to girls as honey rather than his not-yet girlfriend.

Larry is right a lot of the time. It's just that most people within the show are just nuts. Larry can be wrong too of course.

George Costanza could be right at times too. Not as much as Larry, but sometimes he was correct.

I'd say Larry is probably right maybe 60 to 70% of the time in fact, but it's just that he goes about communicating his views in an asshole way. Although in later seasons he is more unhinged. I'd be interested to do a statistical analysis to see actually what the percentage is. One egregious example that comes to mind is when that woman took his sweater from his car at the beach, and fucking Cheryl didn't think there was anything wrong with that.

I feel like this is the point. He's actually right most of the time, but the way he communicates it is terrible.

This. He's not right all the time (and he knows it, it's part of the joke and why the show is as great as it is), but when he's right, he's usually FUCKING A RIGHT.
