A typical combo at Wendy's nowadays costs like $12 to $13.

Do you know how much food you can get at Taco Bell (which is right next-door) for that money? You can get like 4 items and be full as fuck.

And on the slim chance he does, he'll get multi-million dollar parachute payment and then stroll into his next CEO gig at another place.

It's so backwards to me. You'll be punishing your customers during peak hours they go.

Like what if I only have time to eat it during lunch or on the way home from work? I'll simply eat somewhere else if it's too pricy. And I will hardly wait till 8 or 9 pm for a darn burger just so it's normie priced XD. Like they're assuming their customer base is loyal enough that they'll still eat their regardless of their time versus just finding an alternative .
Wendy's is bottom-tier fast food anyway. Hopefully this will drive them out of business.
It's just so tone-deaf and greedy, and doesn't even benefit the people actually making the food

It will only create unnecessary confusion for everyone and would require additional training to employees without any increased pay incentives.

Such detached thinking on this possible corporate move.

And probably more headache for the workers when people complain to them about the prices.

Who on Earth is so devoted to Wendys that theyd willingly pay extra for it during lunch? Wendys ranks somewhere around fifth or sixth in terms of popular dining spots. And now they expect us to say, Hey, lets not just go to Wendys, but lets go there even when theyre charging us more. Its quite the bold move, isnt it?

Maybe it'll get people to not all rush in there at once; spread it out more. Restaurants have to plan staffing around expected business, which varies wildly. Some times there's very little business and at those times it isn't good to staff a lot of people, but they need those people for the few hours here and there when sales explode. It's better for them if sales were more evenly distributed.
I'm not here for friends. I'm here for the truth to the best of my knowledge of it, even if it's not what people want to hear.
Guarantee they will backtrack on this shit real quick. The damage to their reputation wont be so easy to fix though

Imagine looking over at the menu as you walk out, and being able to see that the burger you ate is now a dollar cheaper than it was 20 minutes ago

Literally from the article:

"Digital menu boards could allow us to change the menu offerings at different times of day and offer discounts and value offers to our customers more easily, particularly in the slower times of day," Wendy's said in its follow-up statement.

They're still going to do it just pretend that instead of paying higher prices during peak times you'll be paying lower prices during non-peak times. Literally the same thing just phrased differently.

Yep, and they're 100% gonna be raising prices gradually so that by the time it takes effect the "discounts" don't mean anything.

Do they really expect us to believe "dynamic pricing" is anything but charging more during busier times, why else would they implement it

They'll phrase it as a discount during non-peak times but reality of course is going to be the non-peak time price is the real price and the "normal" price during rush times is actually surge pricing.

They truly think we're dumb enough to not realise this, unfortunately for a large number of people they're probably right.
