Like by the end of the series, Poison Ivy mostly just chills in the park and develops non-terrorist environmental solutions, Harley Quinn is a vigilante, the Riddler runs an extremely popular twitch channel, Alfred killed the Joker, Clayface went back to acting, Freeze cures his wife and stops doing crimes, and Harvey Dent opens a Daredevil-esque law firm.

Obviously the big issue with his no kill rule is that the bad guys just keep doing evil shit forever, so a series that actually shows people can improve when given the chance might actually make that stance a bit more palatable.

I have a feeling this is gonna be a thing someday. Healthy redemptions. The Scott pilgrim netflix series is basically this. Ramona gets a lot of closure with the evil exes, and a lot of them get better. Its not amazing or anything, but im just saying.

A bunch of Batman's villains actually do get better eventually. But then then they relapse.

Clayface was actually on Batman's team for a significant Detective Comics run

Iirc TwoFace was cured in the "One Year Later" storyline following infinite Crisis only to go "lmao I'm two-faced again."

Riddler also spent some time as a good-alligned PI but i forget if he was really good or if it was 4d chess >_>

Poison Ivy got some big changes between Batman TAS and The New Batman Adventures, both in looks and powers.
This was later explained in a comic that the new Ivy was a plant, left by the real Ivy as a decoy when she left Gotham. She also left her criminal life.

I liked the Batman TAS episode where Penguin actually did reform but it didn't last mostly because the "normal" people of Gotham's high society treated him really badly.

The Penguin is probably one that shouldn't reform, he's just a born asshole.

That's dumb. Your entire premise is broken because you won't let 1 villain take part in the redemption you offer everyone else. And he would be the most interesting one to redeem. Also he has been redeemed before in elseworld stories. Look up a series called White Knight

I didn't say all villains should get better. Like I previously said, the Penguin probably shouldn't redeem himself because he's just a little asshole. Sometimes people are just irredeemably evil and that's how I prefer my Joker.

Also I just want Alfred to kill him.

Definitely does add more to the no kill rule which mind you I think can be argued is more about keeping a potential villain in use.

Even if not the direction you plan to take a villain, yeah a problem for the DCAU nonetheless is the lack of restraint with the more layered villains falling into overuse without maintaining the writing that their earlier entries provided.

Freeze's only TNBA appearance in Cold Comfort avert further decline by lack of a following appearance save for his only Batman Beyond use. Keeps him from redemption, but Meltdown does him more justice that CC.

Two-Face, yeah. A Dini written story in the tie in comic does explain why Batman eventually gives up on concerns for Harvey, but you could still do a darker variant of say The Batman's episodes Clayface. Basically replace Harvey with a copycat Two-Face while he himself ends up meeting an untimely demise. Judgement Day was a nice idea, just one that should have been sooner.

Heck, I still like Dan Slott's Batman Adventures run and he did the character more justice than the latter DCAU episodes by well using the original comic trait of him occasionally doing good. Specifically is only appearance has him unable to see the result of his coin flip during an attack on Arkham and until he is able to get to it, helps Batman either the other inmates.

Or his appearance in an opening to a Batman The Brave and the Bold episode where he both fights and teams up with Batman in the same segment.

There was an Elseworld story set in an alternate 1900, The Batman of Arkham , where Bruce Wayne is a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum by day while doing his Batman thing at night. He's actually shown to make a lot of progress by treating the patients there like human beings instead of like animals (especially with Killer Croc, of all characters) before he suffers a bad case of Joker Toxin-induced mania, gets locked up in the asylum himself as a result, and a non-costumed Jonathan Crane takes over as head doctor there and reinstates the old, pointlessly cruel, Bedlam-esque ways.

I think there is also a modern setting story where Bruce is locked up in Arkham as a patient. I think in that story, all the batman stuff is in his head and he's been insane since the night his parents died. I can't remember the name of the story though and I never have read it fully just seen some pages of it

It's from Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader where Batman goes to his own funeral. Everyone attending tells a story about their time with him, none of which make any sense. This one is from a story tells where Alfred is worried Bruce is going to get himself killed, so he has his old acting troupe take on the role of goofy supervillains for Batman to "stop."
