I don't know why you would expect everybody in the national guard today to have that kind of knowledge of uniforms worn during a war that likely ended before their grandparents were born.
The photo is labelled as "Unidentified re-enactors dressed as World War II German soldiers" on Adobe though, so it would take some pretty impressive levels of carelessness to accidentally use it.
You dont know why I would expect the National Guard to have a better awareness of military history than the average person?
