I blame the remastered art style, the crunchy DS art wasn't nearly as off-putting from what I recall. Heres the sprite version (blown up)Holy crap I knew I wasn't crazy, the difference is night and day. That weird first pic: von karma has weird bugging eyes look, like dumb and derpy. The DS version: von karma looks sinister and terrifying. It's not just the eyes, it's small details too like where the lines are drawn on his face and just the general look.

I agree, the sprite looks better. The lines are softer and his eyes are shaded more dramatically
