Sorcerer

My fave part of the first game was getting 2 or 3 sorc pawns and group casting tornado and meteor spells

It was amazing in most cases. Sometimes frustrating if we encountered fast enemies like hellhounds. But there was always a safe spot somewhere.

Warrior! I'm a simple man, give me a big sword and an enemy to hit and I'm happy.

Although the new spear class, Warfarer I think? Definitely trying that.

I intend to play all of them, and then think how I can combine them into Wayfarer.

Hopefully you can pull shenanigans like leaping stone off a large enemy, bring a warhammer smashing down on his skull to stun him, and then maybe see your sorcerer charging a big spell and sync with them.

No idea if the switching can be that fluid, guess we'll see.

I remember the final boss of DD1 being so disappointing plus I couldn't cast at all so it consisted just of me shooting from my staff

Yeah, he was kind of a joke after the dragon. Real pain to get 3* knowledge on the pawn too (useless though that particular knowledge was).

i forgot that the bosses really dont have safe spots for casting long spells

idr the vanilla boss much but i defeated the DLC boss a bunch of times and the only real way to kill him w/ a sorc was to spam holy light balls + buff w/ 4x demon periapt. no other way i think

also a few groups of enemies in the dlc can take like 10-30 mins to kill by spamming meteors or other spell that have physical attack attribute. but you can just avoid some of them iirc

Unfortunately that's the kinda "optimal" thing to do after a point with the mages, but screw all that noise. When I play a wizard who can drop stars from the sky I'm damn well going to drop stars from the sky.
