I don't have the MGEX, just the base MG but that one looks f'n awesome. The MG Strike Freedom was fun as f to build so I'm am pretty sure the MGEX will be fun too. But I think you are making a mistake with the Gloss top coat. I'd go matte with the exception of the gold pieces.

The gloss topcoat is for in-between painting, panel lining, and putting decals on. You can't see it in that picture, but I got a can of flat matte topcoat in the first picture to finish with.
