My Mom is a cancer survivor and tearfully told me today that it might be back.

I sympathize.

My dad was in remission for 15+ years and it showed back up last year. He's got an aggressive oncologist and they're already aggressively treating it.

So I honestly know how you feel. Except the career part. I haven't been as blessed/lucky there. But the cancer part, I get you on.
