Well, I have a good amount of games I havent played, maybe I bought on sale ages ago, or more likely, got it as a gift or a giveaway, but they arent really on my backlog per se. I probably have about 5-7 games on it.

Nope. I just play FROM's latest release until the next one comes out. Between changing builds and co-op, it stays interesting. I also like to pick up the latest Far Cry offering when it's available. That's it.

I have a kind of to-do list though. If the next Nintendo console somehow causes the Switch to really plummet in price, there's a few Switch games I'd be down to try.

Kinda sorta. I have a few new-ish games I havent played yet, but if you take into account all the games on the NES, SNES, and two Sega minis (the majority of which Ive never played) also, there are a TON of games in my backlog lol.

no, not really. I used to take advantage of steam's refund policy, so I'd try a game for an hour or so and if I wasn't feeling it, I'd simply return it.
nowadays, I don't really buy games unless they're heavily discounted, and only if I know I'll play it for at least 5-10hours. Once I hit that 7ish hour mark, I'll either keep playing it until I beat it, or decide I've had enough and will uninstall it then set it to "hidden" in my library.

Unless you count the crappy bycatch I get from humble blunders, not really. There usually aren't a whole lot of games released in a year that interest me and out of those usually only one or two interest me enough to buy them at release rather then waiting for discounts/inclusion in the previously mentioned humble bundles.

Haha, i actually deleted that game from my consoles. I swore off of it because ai always sink like 80 hours into it chopping wood and blacksmithing and grinding for supplies. I never beat the actual game. Its ridiculous.

Yeah, backlog is basically:

  • 4 DS/3DS games
  • 5 Xbox 360 games (several of which are in progress and I just haven't played in years)
  • 5 switch games, not including ToTK which I still haven't finished. Should be done with SMB Wonder pretty soon.
  • 60 games on Steam
This is not including a huge amount of old games that I have on emulator.

Loads, but I really don't care that much, since I don't engage with the sunk cost fallacy. That said, I am more cautious with what games I purchase now a days, after all, I have enough games to play already.

True unicorns right here. I'm always amazed when someone on my Steam friends list buys Skyrim or Half-Life, games I thought everyone owned by now.
