You know that old grainy Spaceworld 2000 gamecube footage that showed off Luigi's Mansion, hi-res Link vs. Ganondorf that made everyone upset when Wind Waker was revealed later, and Mario 128? Well someone found a DVD with all that footage in a clean quality and ripped it. (the grainy footage is shown in the middle of the video while the new hi-res version of the footage with sound effects is shown at the end of the video)

It's neat to see >_> It's mostly tech demos/concept obviously but you do see a prototype gamecube controller where the colors are different and the start button is a red sphere. As well as a mobile system (aka "mibile system") that would've let the GBA play online. And an unrelease GCN game called "Ultimate War"

TWW was okay, but I'm still kinda pissed that this never became an actual game

I'm wondering if that gamecube controller design would have been better

Why did they change the colors?
Not to say that I'm in love with you
but who's to say that I'm not?
Seeing it in HD makes me glad that we didn't get that "realistic" Zelda game at the time. It doesn't look good at all lol. Wind Waker still holds up fantastically in the visual department.

who knows. A b button shaped like the x and y buttons wouldve been weird tho

Nice, I know video game historians have been waiting a very long time for this.

The gamecube buttons are weird anyway so you can't really say that

That freaking Zelda people had people upset when they went with Wing Waker.
If you say I am wrong, than prove that you are right.

Yeah but the A and B buttons were perfect for a primary and secondary action. After that you just have one more button above A and another to the side. Making the B button into another X/Y button would make it less distinct and easier to mix up while you're still learning a game.

Twilight Princess was the response to that outcry.

I barely touched Wind Waker so I can't really judge it. I remember sailing being a pain.

I remember seeing those graphics for the first time and being so excited. The N64 to Gamecube felt like a massive jump in graphics.
