FORTUNATELY, Amtrak has pretty easy rescheduling so I was able to book for a couple hours later.

Still had a mild heart attack when I got the text. >.<

Anyway, I stayed home from work today because I got really depressed yesterday and decided I needed a little time for myself.

Your train? Probably not unless your region is expecting weather.

It's funny, MA has been kinda mild so far for weather. Like we had a foot of snow last weekend but it was like gone the next day because rain and higher temps.

But last night we had rain and then a temp drop that froze it, so I'm sure de-icing the trains has something to do with it.

my boys flight from vancouver got delayed from last night at 10, to today at 4

then it got cancelled

then so did most other flights

its snowing there 3 days in a row. jesus

he managed to find one with like 4 connecting, so he'll make it here this afternoon and we're back on to drive to MAG tomorrow mornin

I had a blast when I went in like... '17 or something. We had one of the balcony suites at the Gaylord and man it was just gorgeous. I'm a huge rhythm gamer so I was mostly in the game room playing all of the Konami rhythm games that I have to go through hoops to play in the US.

I will tell you one thing. Cyric knows how to live dangerously.

There was one parking space left in the garage, and it was partially filled by a snowplow. Just the plow that attaches to the front of the truck.

In fact it was two "compact" parking spots, and I was able to fit my car all the way in, but I am very much blocking access to the plow.

So the forecast for the remainder of my vacation doesn't call for snow, so there should be no need for anyone to need that plow until I leave AND FURTHERMORE nothing sign-wise was specifically marking that space as reserved for the plow. In fact that the sign said it was a compact spot.

Also there's another plow nearby, in an actually blocked off space no less.

So we'll see if Cyric gets a notification that his car gets towed. It's unlikely, but uh, well, the alternative was missing my train.

I hate to do it so early in the year, especially when just earlier this month there were a bunch of layoffs and our pay is now based upon performance. Plus yesterday morning they told us they're going to start doing a dress code as early as next month when it's always been casual even since before I started almost 18 years back.

Have to take an earlier one now, so I need to get up at 6AM.

Yeah Protomen are definitely on the schedule I haven't seen them yet.

Anyway, got my groceries, gonna chill in my room til my lunch is ready at Potbelly. Gonna pick that up, eat lunch, and then get into cosplay for walking around Artist's Alley. Gonna go to the Cosplay Photoshoot Panel at 2PM (if for no other reason than to say hi to the fellow shoot runners).

6PM is the SEGA shoot.

10:20 PM is Descendants of Erdrick on the Main Stage.

That's my day today. :)

There is cheaper but slower, and you can use this on your way back out.

DC Metro will run from the airport to the King St. Station in Alexandria, then you can catch the NH1 bus which runs right up to the Gaylord.

I think you should be able to get a free shuttle from the Harborside.

Alternatively, NH1 stops at Clipper Ave. Make sure you're on the north side of the street for the bus going towards National Harbor.

I went the last two years but decided not to go this year. As fun as it is, I somehow end up getting bored. Maybe something I shouldn't do for a whole weekend. Maybe a one day thing.

I do love the challenges in the console room. Hopefully they got better controllers for that this year!
