My neighbor saw something really white on the ground and went to look at it. It was a bald eagle, but it didn't fly away when it got close to him so he figured something was wrong with it, so he called DNR and they came out and grabbed it with a net. They think it is sick. I was at work and missed all the excitement but I had seen more bald eagles near my house over the past few weeks.

I was looking for a source about them eating young deer but this quote is too great.

Not everyone adored eagles, though. Neither Benjamin Franklin in the 1700s nor John James Audubon in the 1800s thought highly. They both felt the eagle to be a bird of bad moral character, as it has a habit of stealing fish from other birds, especially in winter.
