The Princess Bride

Fantasy movies are hard.Thinking on it Wizard of Oz. Throw in The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. Never ending Story? Beastmaster? Conan?
They seem to age extremely quickly.
I can think of more decent modern fantasy than I can of high or traditional. Shit you have LotR, then what?
Willow, dragon heart, clash of the titans, narnia, conan... and I'm pretty much out. (not saying those are particularly good)
I cheated a little, and saw one I would recommend, Stardust.
I also liked The Brothers Grimm.
I guess sleepy hollow could fit as well, but that's dipping a little towards horror.
Thinking on it Wizard of Oz. Throw in The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. Never ending Story? Beastmaster? Conan?Yeah, those were all on the list I pulled Stardust from.
I can only assume no one mentioned Robocop yet because it's just a given that it's not only the greatest sci-fi movie of all time but it's just the greatest movie in general of all time.mostbof the Vehoeven movies touch on sci fi. I think of Robocop as more Dystopian like Mad Max. But I can see it. Think Total Recall is the best choice followed by Starship Troopers.

They turned a mother fucker into a gods damned robot and all of the cops weren't pure scumbags... That's science AND fiction! And the best villain this side of Frank Booth.
And the best villain this side of Frank Booth.
Mf not gonna put Minority Report on his list cuz he's a coward
It depends on what counts, as the genre can be broad. Here are ones from this century. Tons of old great ones too, but I have this list handy:
Lord of the Rings
Pan's Labyrinth
The Shape of Water
Arrival
Dune
Mad Max: Fury Road
Guardians of the Galaxy
Inception
Ex Machina
Children of Men
Minority Report
Edge of Tomorrow
I know you hate many of those
Im aware there are a metric ton of fifties and sixties sci fi but most is garbage.
Godzilla might be worthy as far as an older movie.
Thinking on it Wizard of Oz. Throw in The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. Never ending Story? Beastmaster? Conan? No Krull?
WillowI forgot Highlander. The movie is meh, but the series is fantastic.
The Thing
Highlander
