Yeah I always thought corpo v having a friendship with Jackie made little sense. So I make up the back story they knew each other as kids but v was gifted enough (educationally) managed to rise up and get a foot in the door at Arasaka and rise up to where they got to. Later down the road needed to hire some runners for something that v couldn't do alone with and ended up reconnecting with him.
