For me this would be a day 1 purchase. Especially GTA 1. I even bought that American Fugitive game because it looked like it would fill the void (it did not)

I would love some top down GTA

So long as they didnt run like their recent remasters and they were reasonably priced, then sure
Live action Hungry Hungry Hippos though, now that was a sport. ~Aeon Azuran
if it's in the same style as Chinatown Wars then sure.

cause the straight up top down camera from GTA 1 and 2 was horrible!
Hell yeah. I loved them back in the day, but they're hard to play nowadays. My biggest problem is not being able to see so far ahead of you and getting constantly lost. An actual remaster with QOL updates might make them playable. I mostly just miss the vibe they had. 2's respect system needs to make a return in a future game. So should the fart/burp button too.

This. And speaking of Chinatown Wars, the drug dealing system needs to return as well.

Fuck yeah I love those games
Confirmed unbiased
Dude the soundtracks on those games were fire. I much preferred it over the modern games use of popular music

100% would.

I still remember the first time I saw GTA1. A friend of mine had it. Said he bought it from a friend. We were so juvenile about how funny we thought it was that they were cursing in the game, simply because it was such a rarity at the time.

I ended up getting obsessed with the game, spending hours trying to compile a million dollars and progressing from there.

It was such a part of my 20's that now almost 25 years later, my friend and I still use some of the locations in our daily lexicon, such as (as NYers) constantly talking about traveling to "New Guernsey", "Brocklyn", "Brix", or "Hackenslash"
It takes zero effort to be a good person.
Too old now. That zooming in and out would put me on the floor without having to get drunk.

Hmmmmm lol.

They're definitely underrated. I have many songs from both games in my music collection.

I feel you on that, but my biggest problem was always the on-foot gameplay. They'd definitely have to fix that

My first experience with it was endlessly playing the demo on my dad's PC when he wasn't home. My dad was a cop, so obviously he could not know I had this game

I eventually got to play the full version and the second game on PSX, and I loved them both

Nah I'm not into that kind of top-down game.
