When was coke meant to mean Coca-Cola?
The second that it started being used? Coke is the brand, Cola is the type of drink. It was in part because of Coke's high popularity that it was like how "Google" is used for searching something online, "Band-Aid" is used in place of bandage, or "Nintendo" is used in place of video game console: there is a portion of the population of extreme brand reverence that they use a particular, usually the most popular one (and almost assuredly the particular one they use/consume), in place of the name of the thing that they are dealing with.
