The MCU raised so many up, but the Hulk was... let down.

In terms of popularity, he used to always be the de facto hero for Marvel along with Spider-Man and Wolverine.

The main reason is the Universal distribution rights fiasco, and since Disney owns Marvel, they don't want another studio to have the distribution rights to their films.

It's just a shame, though, because the Hulk seems to have a great deal of iconic comic runs that Marvel could use for their stories. It's actually crazy just hearing how many he has compared to other superheroes where people seem to hate more of the runs than they actually like. He even just had one a few years ago that people hailed as a classic. It's not a lack of source material, and deep down, people love super strength as a power. They go crazy for Hulk Smash.

I guess, in the end, at least the MCU was able to raise other heroes' stock up in the general audience's eyes.

I thought the Hulk stuff got sorted out now.

I think they've used him about as well as they can. He just doesn't translate well for a whole story. He works in spurts. Both feature length films were disliked. It's hard to make an invincible character vulnerable or relatable.

I was expecting for Thanos to kill Nat and that sets Hulk free and he goes on a rampage where you see Thanos is afraid.

Instead we get nerd Hulk.

Current MCU Hulk is literally a joke character. It's sad

I'm so pissed he never got his revenge against Thanos after that beatdown
I always find this line of thinking funny. Hulk has never been a challenge to Thanos and they certainly weren't ever going to just have him beat Thanos down in the movies.
It's weird cause I get why people don't like how he turned out in the MCU, but I'm fine with it, because Hulk/Banner never get to be happy in the comics, things always revert to status quo, so having one continuity where they're at peace is ok with me.

I do wish he'd gotten one more big rage moment before that, and that we'd seen the process of them making peace.

He also got the ultimate revenge by undoing Thanos' entire life's goal.
MCU utterly destroyed Hulk. He never recovered after getting beat by Thanos.

Yeah, I wish they were more accurate to 1966 Hulk

Also, I'm surprised the MCU never does anything with Betty Ross... you know the crucial character in any of Hulk's stories.

It's very strange that Betty just disappeared off the face of the planet. Never to be mentioned again.

Hulk's more or less Shrek now.
Would love to see Maestro introduced to the MCU.

Honestly, yeah. Hulk was iconic in the Avengers and AoU, while not perfect, still respected Hulk as a threat and was trying to setup for Planet Hulk which Ragnarok could only touch on.

He'd make for a great villain in an Avengers movie. All of the benefits of Professor Hulk with all the savage of... Savage Hulk.

Honestly, would serve a good conclusion to Bruce's story as it currently is in the MCU since not much seems like it could happen.

im just sick of the entire mcu at this point

deadpool 3 is the only thing im looking forward too

They could have redeemed him with a build up to World War Hulk. But that chance was lost. It could have been a great way to bring Ghost Rider back, and introduce the Sentry.

The MCU is not must-see for me anymore, but I still have projects I'm looking forward to I would say including DP3.

Yeah, Planet Hulk, World War Hulk, or even cashing in on Immortal Hulk's success, it's a shame just how much of his stuff has been ignored and it'll be a while before there's another chance to do all of that again (as in, we'll have to wait for a reboot many, many, many years down the line).

I think the Hulk is one of the easier characters to build back up, though. The way he's designed and acts is just something that works as a crowd-pleaser for just seeing stuff get hit.

hulk needs a no way home movie
We suffer from the delusion that the entire universe is held in order by the categories of human thought.
At least he still has the best 2nd most iconic line in mcu in Avengers 1, aka the best avengers movie before all that other stupid shit happened
Hes lame now but i dont think hes unfixable, we just need the real hulk to come back
Ngl I was expecting Hulk to bounce back from his ptsd by the end of endgame and pay Thanos back 10x for the ass kicking he gave him in infinity war.

But it didnt happen, they kept him as a soy boy and ruined his character completely. I maintained hope still but then she hulk happened and I gave up.

She hulk gave me hope. They introduced his son, hopefully his son gets waxed to set off hulk
Hulk sucks as a character.

Does he have a brain? Can he talk and articulate? Then he's not "the Hulk." Does he grunt and roar and talk like a caveman? Then he isn't entertaining as a character.

Maybe, if they called him Incredible Hulk, that would allow flexibility. When they shorten it to "the Hulk," they're basically calling him a slab of muscle with no brains. Hulk Hogan can have a brain. (Can, not necessarily does.) She-Hulk has a brain. "Hulk" is a lump of green flesh.

I don't know why they shy away from Incredible Hulk. Maybe it's so that he doesn't bounce up against the Incredibles in teh naming department. Either way, just calling him "Hulk" is underwhelming and sets low expectations for his worth as a character.

The problem that it was supposed to happen at the end of Infinity Wars, and then Endgame ignore the change and pretend that it really happened.
