A little bit over 12 hours here until it's time to play and I'm getting excited looking at the reviews that have come out for it so far. The Umbral world mechanics seems really cool, looks/sounds like a great soulslike overall.

Fuck no. I downloaded the first one after it was free on PS Plus. Immediately uninstalled when a normal mob took most of my health with one hit. Ain't nobody got time for that!

I don't know if "oversaturated" is the right word, but I feel like Souls-likes are establishing their place in the industry, and unless if they're doing something special/amazing, I don't think I really care to try them out.

especially since none of them are doing it better than From, IMO.

I know, I'm still going to play the game and very likely enjoy it.

However, I've only actually been following it for a few days now so I'm getting a bit worried I've missed some signs it might not be as great as it looks in the reviews I've seen.

Lords of the Fallen is genuinely one of the worst games I've ever played that wasn't literally broken from glitches.

Why in the game of God would they revive that name for something that seems to have very little to do with it?

I have no idea, but it looks fun. I'm hearing a lot of good things about it. Apparently you can do seemless coop through the whole game, and it's graphics are really something.

First one was soooo bad, played it again recently and it was even worse than I remembered. Even if they change the mechanics it's still going to be based on the kind of boring edgelord-adjacent comic book-styled world the first one had. Hangar 17 actually learned from their mistakes and knocked it out of the park with the Surge 1 and 2 so I'm kinda bummed they were taken off this, but on the other hand they just released some other vaguely Soulslike game that is apparently pretty bad.
