and it took me out of the story entirely. Jesus Christ, I know Megan Fox is a hot talentless hack but she didn't even fucking try. The entire time she sounds like she's reading off a grocery list kind of tone while everyone else is just hamming it up with the voice deliveries. I'll argue she's even worst than Rhonda Rhousey when it comes to line deliveries.

Supposedly, Megan Fox only does Nitara's voice in cutscenes and pre-battle dialogue. Cristina Valenzuela (a.k.a. "Cristina Vee"; the voice of Shantae, Tulin from The Legend of Zelda , and Verosika Mayday in Helluva Boss , among many other roles) recorded her in-battle grunts, with Netherrealm clearly wasting such a talented VA in the process.

They probably only did it for star power, but it's unfortunate they picked someone who doesn't even try. What I'm probably guessing was that she was probably charging by the hour (she's consider a triple A actress so she was probably expensive), so they gave her a script, told her to read it off, and boom out of the studio and only took her first takes.

Yeah I just got to her part in the story mode earlier today and wow is it bad. She's not even trying. I get sometimes going for star power but yikes.

Also regarding the voice acting, I was shocked to find out that's not actually Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa voicing Shang Tsung . It sounds exactly like him.

She didn't even do the battle grunt? Dammit, I was just going to complement her on it because they sounded good and now I can't find anything good to say about her lol. What a bad call on NRS part. Dave Bautista should've been a character in MK1 and not wasted on the commercial.

Oh shit, I thought he came back to voice himself, whoever they got to voice Shang Tsung did a really good job. I also like the fact that Shang Tsung is actually fun to play as oppose to MK11 version where he was just a zoning bitch.

I am curious as to the rationale, as NRS seems to like to do these celebrity crossovers, like Ronda Rousey as Sonya or this case with Megan Fox's voice. But like, what the fuck is the cross over of Megan Fox voice fans & Mortal Kombat fans? Ronda Rousey was a terrible voice actress, and Megan Fox sounds jilted as hell; and they didn't even use her likeness. It's just weird celebrity appeal that I don't think actually impacts sales at all.

celebrity va things in video games are usually pretty bad so it isnt surprising. a dedicated voice actor will be better nine times out of ten
