A weird number of GOP voters have a very odd, almost stylized view of dictatorships.

I think a lot of them think that Trump as dictator would be similar to a place like Singapore or Seychelles when in reality he would be more like a Russia or Serbia.

But the voters aren't very smart so maybe I'm reading too deep into it.

Yeah that's what I meant though.

Singapore and Seychelles had a dictator that made each country obnoxiously rich compared to other countries nearby, so it's almost like that's what they want for America.

A "just get things done without interference" approach. It's really odd considering what the US was trying to get away from 300 years ago.

there has never been an acceptable time to support trump. in 2015-16 he ran on racist and sexist af rhetoric without any actual tangible policy positions. his main 'policy' position was to build a wall and have mexico pay for it which was so dumb and obviously never going to happen. voting for him in '16 could maybe be chalked up to ignorance, but after 4 years in office he accomplished nothing but weakening our position in the world and openly bending over for hostile russia before his bungling of covid and personal responsibility for how bad it was in the us.

as bad and cartoonishly evil as he was in his first term, losing an election and trying to go full autocratic tyrant was so much worse than anything before it. before 1/6 he was one of the worst presidents in modern history by far, but after that any supporters are just openly declaring they hate democracy and want to install a bufoonish, malignant narcissist as supreme leader with no regard for the democratic process. anyone still supporting trump is signaling that they would support any dictator as long as they peddle hate mongering.
