Power through, get one a year or every other year. Work on your diet and water intake. Invest in a nice heating blanket, hotter the better. It won't fix a bad blockage but the severe renal collic will damn near put you in shock. But that heat does wonders for soothing the pain if you don't have access to drugs. Even if you grow accustomed though if you have blockage pain for more than a day go to ER asap, this can actually kill you if it goes too long.
