Counting calories is pointless. Focus on the sodium and saturated fat.Counting calories is straight up the way to lose weight though
finish a bowl of hummus with baby carrots and then find out you would have eaten less calories than if you bought sloppy burger king

One of my go-to snacks is an entire container of low-fat cottage cheesewill try this out next time thanks, dont care about sodium right now lol
Decent protein, still a lot of sodium though
Yeah, but you don't eat the entire bowl in a single meal/snack.
You are lying. That entire container in that pic is about 500 calories.
10 oz, at 70 calories per oz, so 700 calories.Okay, I was slightly off. TC said 3000.
Whopper has 677 calories

Why is it "pointless"?It's not. Ignore him. He is a massive troll.
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidityIf the end result is identical does the underlying cause really matter?
I don't believe in Internet trolls, I'm sure 99% of people are serious about their dumb takes.
Why is it "pointless"?
Counting calories is pointless. Focus on the sodium and saturated fat.
Is that bad? I have been blessed with the ability to literally eat whatever, whenever, and how ever much I want and am healthier than any human has any medical right to be. So I basically do not know about carbs and calories and such

Sabra is gross

Counting calories is pointless.Thats the most ridiculous thing Ive seen today.
Did something rattle your preciousness? "Oh no. Someone said something! Must be a troll!"
y'all ever make your own hummus? it's pretty darn easy and cheap. you can add whatever flavors you like.
i mean this right here is a pretty troll-y thing to say
Haha. "Massive troll". Please explain how and where I have been a massive troll? Did something rattle your preciousness? "Oh no. Someone said something! Must be a troll!"

Unless you are throwing back 4,000 calories of Big Macs a day without exercise, counting calories is not great. Focus on the quality of food and everything else going into it.
I seriously doubt it's over 3000 calories and even if it were, it's not like you're eating the whole thing in one sitting all by yourself.
Both of the articles you listed say nothing about how counting calories doesn't work, just that there's BETTER ways to lose weight. It's generally easier to cut 500 calories out of your diet than to burn 500 calories through exercise.
I don't think anyone is debating that "Eat Healthy and Exercise" is the best wat to lose weight. But eating at a calories deficit will also make you lose weight. It may lead to a heart condition and diabetes, but you'll still lose weight.

There are approximately 31,000 calories in a gallon of gasoline but you wouldn't gain weight by drinking it (you'd die, so don't do this). No wonder cars are huge as fuck.
Which is still only 700 calories...
How many people you know that got fat from eating a bowl of hummus everyday though? You'll probably end up losing weight, despite the high calories. It's not only about the calories, but what type it is. 3-4 greasy cheeseburgers a day, or a big bowl of hummus. Each around 3000 calories. I wish someone would test this for a week.
But did I say anything about it not entirely working/not leading to loss of weight? Scientifically it does. I said it was pointless as in of little value because there are too many factors. This isn't actually a real argument. You are correct. It's that simple
That's my entire argument. You want to successfully lose weight for the long term while also maintaining good overall health? Focus on other things rather than counting calories because ultimately...it's pointless...if those are your goals.
Though this is an argument that has been going on for decades and we won't solve it on a video game message board.
i ate the whole thing all by myself in one sitting lol
dude why...anything healthy can be bad when over consumed.
This isn't actually a real argument. You are correct. It's that simpleEating at a calorie deficit while not paying attention to the nutritional value of the food youre consuming will still get you to lose weight.
No wonder cars are huge as fuck.
there's definitely some fattier brands of hummus out there that go over 700 calories in the same sized containerBulk of sumo wrestler's weight gain are due to copious amounts of beer, and sleeping right after a big meal.
of course i exaggerated to get attention which worked but you get my point, there's gotta be a hummus brand that's 1300-1500 calories
lol sounds like a fun experiment that i'd want someone else to do
i wonder how many obese people exist who got obese from eating only healthy food but a TON of it every day excluding sumo wrestlers cuz they're actually hardcore and train and get big from eating healthy stuff
