The karaoke rooms where you have a private room with your friends and pay by the hour for as many songs as you want are SO fun and some of the best nights IMO. There's a ton of these places in NYC

I actually don't like those. I like the bar atmosphere. I like the anxious thrill of strangers.

There was one woman there who was clearly interested. She seemed disappointed when she realized I was taken.

It's funny. Whenever I did karaoke as a single guy, no interest. But when in a relationship, lots of interest. Oh well.

Karaoke + drinks + peeps who are for the vibes (don't even have to sing with mic if they don't want to but at least maybe dance and sing along if someone else has the mix) is such a good time

Its fun. Japanese karaoke is much better than American karaoke though (i live in Japan, btw). We have more options, and can even go to centers to do it privately, or other places publicly.

Same, the few times I've done it and enjoyed the most was after trivia nights at restaurant, even won 50$ once!

Though it didn't change the number of women interested in me :P

My father does it. Locally he's kinda famous for it. A few places close to 100 miles away ask him to sing there. Even has a few groupies.

My brother does it too. He's ok at it.

Me? I'm #1 not a drinker, #2 dont't like loud places and crowds, 3. I'm really shy to people I dont know. So me singing in front of people will never happen. I also have health issues that prevent me from singing like I use to. I use to be pretty good.

If my fiance could do it, anyone can. There is no reason to be fearful. Moat people at those places are cool and supportive .

Not really my thing, although I get why other people enjoy it.

If I'm at a bar and there's not an actual band playing, I'm usually hanging out around the pool table.
