KH1. Didn't have unskippable cutscenes until 1.5 iirc

Oh thanks for the correction. This is what I get when I post something from memory without fact checking it first.
DI MOLTO!

Yes.

Does it have the mechanical complexity of a Devil May Cry or Bayonetta? No, but it's still pretty solid IMO.

Good thing it's not boring!
I don't think it's fair to call it a skill issue when the game very specifically sets limitations to what combos and abilities you can actually chain together.

There's also some abilities (like the Blazing/Flaming Sword or w/e it's called) that come across as downright useless given how they actually function.

No status effects

No elemental.. anything. Elements don't matter

No control over anything to do with party members at all
While these are definitely strange exclusions, it's not indicative of the game being "unfinished." It's clear that these were intentional choices.

I would've def liked elemental relationships, but since you're stuck with only 1 or 2 elements for so long at the start, I guess they figured it's better to just do without it.

I am figuring out different combos for single enemies versus multiple enemies, weak enemies versus strong enemies. So there is some definite depth but it pales in comparison to real action games. And the customization and choices pales in comparison to most RPGs. So you are left with a watered down version of each. That said, it has a lot going for it with the story, cinematics, music and voice work. So we will see how I end up feeling about it.

the story is a damn snoozefest after it basically throws away the original plot
Talk about backseat fishing.

Mobs should be a lot more aggressive. Most of them just stand around or are too busy with your teammates such that its trivial to just stunlock enemies one by one

Bigger enemies should also be more susceptible to launchers. Random mobs die too quick to really play around with them while bigger enemies are static and only let you wail on them.

I would definitely consider this a real action game. I can definitely see action game enthusiasts enjoying this one, but I do feel for the guys who wanted a turn based rpg with you know rpg elements. At least there will always be dragon quest.

Just to be clear, most turn based RPGs bore me now. I love Action RPGs

Wild I just saw an article dedicated to this

When are devs going to learn that a 10 hour intro is the last thing anyone wants
It's less a "10 hour intro" and more the first act of a story.
The intro is around 2~3 hours long.

Watched a combo video that was just uploaded.
I'm seeing a bit of DMC5 Nero and a bit of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Merged Zamasu.

It was all power tripping against helpless ragdoll enemies much like DMC5 though. Would be nice to see this combat system in action against something that will try to fight back.
Still waiting on that third threat
Sorry you had to find out this way TC

Yeah, those combo vids are purely just to show off. The real impressive stuff for me is seeing what people can do in actual challenging fights, which is entirely possible in the game.

Yeah, there are actually challenging fights here and there, but for the most part I'd say the fights are "fun" more than anything. Especially the boss fights.

But also, I've heard there are a few gameplay videos where people have equipped the Easy Mode items and then complain about the game being too easy lol.

I don't want another game with customizable characters and an open world. I never played FFXVI for it. I played it for the cast and the story. So I guess I'm its audience lol
Goddamn they made Ifrit too cool in this one, the other Eikon don't even compare lol, well maybe Garuda does when she did a fucking hurricanrana. god I wish that was an ability
