I mean whatever it's probably hogwash, but reading all that and the article and comments, I did sort of get a freaky feeling for a moment where it was totally real in my head. And it wasn't a good feeling. I don't think I want aliens to be real. I think they're a terrifying concept when you really sit and think about it and they probably don't have good intentions.

Just imagine for one moment that they are real. If they actually do exist, they've been hiding all this time because they value their secrecy.

What happens once the entire world knows they are real?

What if they do something then?

This particular comment thread got me feeling pretty spooky. It's how they said they needed to whistleblow because the world needs to be prepared for mass contact soon:

Here's a spooky comment from the thread:

I saw an interview with Leslie Keen a couple of months ago where she basically said she was taking some time off and just trying to enjoy her life for the moment, because of knowledge she had that she couldn't elaborate on beyond "geo-political things." It was quite jarring actually, and makes some more sense now given she's had this info for a few months and was probably just doing all of her due diligence to confirm it at the time of this interview. It didn't sound like the usual "tune in next week!" kind of hype, she really didn't want to talk about it at all and seemed genuinely concerned.

Don't forget, intelligence officials aren't any different from regular people. They can still make mistakes or lie for attention. But for some reason they're "more believable" because of a career choice.

Nice to see credible folks pushing for more disclosure. I believe there have been some recovered craft, and that they did not have any occupants.

I dont think theres any concern about a mass contact event. These craft are studying the planet, maybe taking resources and samples.

I think its incredulous to believe were the only intelligent life when you fathom how large and old the visible universe is.

A number of credible pilots have also given accounts of encountering these craft and how we know they are intelligently operated, and have defensive mechanisms.

I've been following a lot of UAP disclosure news and I'm not sure about this one. Ironically even if the whistleblower is telling the truth, being on News Nation instantly destroys his credibility just by the channel's association with countless far-right crazies.

As exciting as it is, and how much it corroborates a lot of the ho-hum UAP news this last year or two, it's still nothing but testimony from reliable people with zero evidence to back it for the public to chew on. We've been getting these since the lid blew off in 2017 to no avail.

I'm cautiously excited, but it'll most likely run its course and disappear until the next reputable intelligence official whistleblows and it all comes around to the same conclusion.

I'm currently watching The 5th Wave for free on Tubi. It's a pretty intense film. About a very realistic alien invasion. Major spoilers ahead:

Aliens show up in an UFO over earth, do nothing for a few days then suddenly hit the planet with an EMP. Then they cause a global earthquake that triggers major tsunamis, wiping out probably half of humanity. Next they modify avian flu to make it more deadly, and that kills many of the survivors.

It's scary because of how realistic it is. It's not them coming down in fancy flying ships shooting lasers. It's a methodical and brutal military assault. The movie's gone downhill a little since the opening 30 minutes but I'm still gonna finish it.

If that sort of stuff interests you should watch it.

How large and old the visible universe is makes it unlikely any intelligent life would ever reach us. Unless we're also prepared to say the entire concept of physics as we know it is bunk. And if a lifeform was technologically advanced enough to break physics, them visiting us would mean we we are screwed.

There is a massive difference between "aliens don't exist" and "aliens haven't visited Earth."

It's also quite egocentric to think that out of the just absolute bonkers massiveness of the universe, aliens give a shit about OUR planet.

I find UFO stories fascinating, and have participated in a few talks from alleged abductees and experimentation survivors. I find the mystique surrounding the subject to be incredibly alluring. In a weird way, it would be a bit of a bummer to find out aliens exist so soon.
