...this statement doesn't hold for one simple reason. The people you speak of includes Boomers, Gen X, and even a generation older than boomers.

All of which dunk on zoomers as well. In fact, all generations get dunked on.

It's just one of the latest ways that suburban kids are co-opting AAVE. People on CE are often quick to say that this has always been the case, but I think they don't realize the degree to which it's grown. It's no longer just a percentage of boys doing it, it's every high school kid who isn't a complete outcast.

I always told myself I wouldn't become the grouchy old guy who just complains about the younger generation, but it's already sort of becoming me anyway.

I'm barely in my 30s and zoomer culture is just entirely alien to me. I don't really interact with any "zoomers" in real life or in online spaces I frequent, but occasionally I'll come across these weird memes or unfamiliar vernacular like the one this topic is about, and it'll just make me go "huh?".
