I'd say very story heavy
I have nothing else to say
Id say

25 hours for the main narrative. Another 20-25 for side questsmaybe? Then the rest is what you make of it. Maps big, lots of tasks to do if you choose. Theres some good stuff to be gained in all the content.

The main quests are very dialogue heavy and do their share of the heavy lifting of the world building. SQs vary from heavy dialogue to light and from light hearted to pretty dark. Theres some pretty great writing in this game.

Personally, for the size of the map and as long as they seem to have wanted you to hang out in it, I wish there was more story to do.

I just started this game for the first time a while back and Im about done with it. I really like it, hence the wishing there was more meat on the bone. Stillmy experience on the PS5 has been good.

OhI havent had any leveling issues, but I havent done a full map clear of all the tasks either., just some. Main and side, yes tho.

thank you

some questions if you have time

1) is the game easy or easy difficulty setting>?

2) my ps4 upgrades to ps5 if I buy cd?

3) can I just to main story stuff and be levelled enough to beat the game? i assume it plays like a fps gameplay wise

The game is easy once you get used to the general controls beyond a couple of weird spots regardless of any difficulty settings.

"Beating the main story" is a bit loaded as you have multiples of endings, the canon/good endings largely being locked behind doing side content. You can easily beat the game without doing side content, and you don't have to do any non-necessary side content for any particular ending if you want a specific ending. Grinding is definitely not a requirement regardless.

No clue about the PS4/5 thing. Can't say I'd recommend playing it on PS4 though.

Play the game as a decker and hack everything. Very different gameplay (ie. not a FPS) and it lets you easily ignore most everything once you get used to the system + an upgraded cyberdeck.

Most of the side stuff is like mindless mercenary work. Theres a handful of meaningful relationship type stuff that you might find worth doing, but the generic side missions are mostly just go to location, kill/stealth your way to the objective, leave.

It also depends on what you get out of it. For instance, there is a mission in which you participate in a snuff film in which a person is crucified by you (as in, you are actually killing someone on camera and not just acting it out). On one hand it can be boiled down to "go to location and kill a person" while on the other it is entirely missing the point to reduce it to that level.

I am.

It, however, is an optional branch on an optional quest so I wouldn't expect to stumble onto it if you are just going to do main story stuffs.

Definitely one of the more memorable ones obviously, but damn I really wished they expanded on how you could play things out a bit even for just that one.

im enjoying it so far

first time playing it this week. Theres plenty of sidequests that can go into depth. Similar to witcher 3. City is gorgeous, but not a whole lot interactive, only when questing. Combat is so so. Its like an 8/10 game for me. Not GOTY quality but its a fun game. i'd put it in the same tier as Sleeping Dogs.

im also playing it on pc on ultra. No idea what the console experience is like.

Yes, theres an easy mode. Im playing on the hardest difficulty and havent found it frustrating at all.okay, except for maybe the boxing questline. That was tough only being able to take a couple hits. Felt like as I leveled, the upgrades were meaningful.

I upgraded the PS4 version I bought and never played at no additional cost.

And finally, yes. Its an FPS at heart, but with skills and all sorts of tech. You can play a stealth hacker, a meathead with a bat, a shock trooper with an LMG and a loud voicewhatever you want.

Main Story can be done in 20 hours, the game really shines in Side Quests, Police Calls, and Fixer Gigs. The lore of Night City is super fleshed out with the information you get out of completing those.
yeah the word seems super interesting so can see why a lot of side stuff woul dbe neat to do if you enjoy the city
