how about some tips? Still having a bit of issues. Why do the mobs move so f'n far? What's a good placement of early units? Should I look out for anything in the. . .what are they called, the map tents to buy better units/gear. What's the point of, "Focus On The Leader," whey they don't focus on it? Is it better to build your army tall [Only a few armies, but really strong] or a wide army [Lots of armies, but lower level]?
Is there a way to give the units you buy a name? Or are we stuck with that they're called?
Well, I mean with the mob movement, you just gotta check them out before you move your guys. You can click on bad guys, and see where they can move and attack, so you can move your guys to just one space beyond that and they're safe.
I don't ever bother with the special commands. I just attack normally, and then force surrender when they're shattered morale wise.
As far as army, I basically have each main character as a squad leader, and then I think one more unit just made up of hired dudes, but I kinda use them as a training pool so when my leaders get higher command power they can suck them up. So like maybe 9 or 10 units early game. Oh, and one healer per unit for everyone.
Other than that, some general tips:
I put my main character one space back behind a strong unit. Got her off the front line. She's a nice fighter, but considering you get a game over if she dies, I gave her more protection.
7 foot tall mommy is strong, use her a lot. Still waiting for her to evolve to 15 foot mommy.
Remember to add more units to your squads as your leaders gain leadership points. And use artifacts as needed. And try to give squads themes. Like the archer guy should have a bunch of archers and be a dedicated long distance unit, and the rogue guy should have a bunch of rogues, or assassins or whatever they're called. But! I do like to put a heavy shield unit in front of the assassin squad and create an arrow formation, so that he tanks the melee attacks. Remember a character will defend a character behind him, as well as half a step above or below, so with an arrow formation, all melee attack will target the one single guy in the very front, making your squishy archers safe.
My asian healer lady unit now has two dragons. She trains dragons good. That's a good thing to buy up when you see them, baby dragons and then give them to her. They get real strong.
Other than that I dunno. Just gotta be aware that the bad guys are gonna target your weakest unit, so group your units up so they can't be surrounded, and check the enemy target distance before moving. So you should know how the enemy is going to attack after you move.

I already really like it, and I'm not even that far in. Already had a massive WTF moment
What chapter are you on? :3 The story is surprisingly good.
