Didnt she also have a photoshoot where she broke down crying and made dramatic poses while holding onto a fence at one of those detention centers? They took shots from a bunch of different angles of her screaming and falling to the ground IIRC.

I'm sure she does genuinely care.

I'm also sure she knows this will drum up major support for her from her base and that she'll face no actual consequences for doing it. I wouldn't be shocked if getting escorted off the premises, if not planned, was a better outcome than she could possibly hope for.

But let's see what her response to this is. If it's, "look, I don't want to dwell on what happened to me and stay focused on what the protest was actually about" I'll come back here and eat shit.

But I'm almost positive when she responds it's going to be about her, and how badly she was treated for doing her part.
