The hearings are an impotent attempt at compensation for their failure to be able to hold Trump responsible. There's nothing to investigate because the criminal conduct happened right out in the open. Every "discovery" they make is a trivial confirmation of what we already know. Republicans are gambling that the lack of accountability won't lead to either future recurrences or electoral consequences, and they might be right.When you're right you're right. Republicans figured out that the American public only gets suspicious when a cover-up is attempted.
