Its the vaccine thats protecting you, youre not percent safe but high enough that the CDC experts and scientists have said you dont need to worry about catching the virus.

so, youre not protecting yourself by wearing a mask, youre not protecting others since the science says its very low odds that youd get the virus who are you really helping or protecting by wearing the mask?

They shouldn't get rid of masks without requiring proof of vaccination. You have no idea if an anti-vaxxer is pretending to be vaccinated.

Also, the CDC didn't pass a law. You still need to follow state and local and business mandates until they are lifted

Masks don't stop you getting it, masks stop you spreading it, so either way, just do what you want.

Because the vaccine doesnt eliminate the virus. It further helps you fight it. I can still carry it and pass it off to someone else. We are slowly getting to a point where masks wont be needed tho.

Science doesnt say its low odds youll get the virus. Its low odds youll have a severe reaction to the virus. You can still be a carrier and you can still pass the virus on to others, including those who cant get the vaccine to protect against the severe cases of COVID.

This has been explained countless times in every vaccination topic.

But, even if someone is not vaccinated, thats on them. Youre not going to put yourself at risk because you have the vaccine, what they do is on them.

As for the laws, the governor of Colorado has already gotten rid of the mask mandate here so I see other states probably following suit.

That too.
Because the chance of getting, and spreading, covid is still higher than 0%. Plus plenty of cities still have high numbers of new cases.

Optics. You cant tell if someone is vaccinated or not by looking at them, so I keep wearing my mask so that unvaccinated maskholes dont feel normalized.

That doesn't mean what I said isn't true. You can still get the virus, still test positive for the virus, and still pass the virus onto others. And you getting the vaccine doesn't protect against those who can't get the vaccine and can still get a serious case of COVID that can kill them. One of my coworkers is severely asthmatic and she has had issues with vaccines before and likely won't be able to get this one, so yeah, I'm gonna do what I can to help protect her too because I'm not an asshole that only thinks about my needs.

The vaccine also is untested against the variants that are popping up and if we want more variants to continue to pop up, then yeah, I guess it's a great idea to start taking away all the mask mandates and whatnot.

Many studies show that they do stop you from getting it, through reducing how much of the virus you suck in.

Yeah either the common cold and the seasonal flu have been proven to be hoaxes by this pandemic or masks actually do work at stopping the spread and transmission of viruses.

There's no question they're extremely effective for stopping particles from going out. The discussion was on how well they work for blocking particles from coming in(ignoring N95s).

Are you under the impression the barrier goes one way? Do particles know in vs out?
Im still going to wear my mask when in public (supermarket, malls, workplace, gym, etc where Im within 12 feet of people )

ill continue to wear masks probably for the next 18 months to 24 months depending on the situation. I havent gotten covid since this whole pandemic started and I work with patients in a hospital who are symptomatic for covid. Thats because I wear my masks and face shields.

the true test comes in the holiday season november to January, we will see then if covid numbers rise again or not.

This. Even if I'm safe and vaccinated, I could still pass it to others, which I don't want to do because I'm a good person who actually has empathy for other people.
Because there are variants that the vaccine may not be able to handle.
Because there are breakthrough cases of the vaccinated getting infected, however small.

Better safe than sorry and wearing a mask was never that big a deal. It's a shame it's been politicized.

There's N95 classification for a reason. In particle tests you can see particles enter the sides of non-n95 masks.
