The art style is really nice, the music is absolutely incredible, and the voice acting is on point. The battle system is incredibly fun, strategizing the right combination of moves to break enemies in as few turns as possible is rewarding, and the job system is amazing. I wont spoil what they are, but you also get additional secret classes later on for even more customization.

The individual stories themselves are pretty good as well. Olberic, Primrose, and Hannits are particular standouts. People rag on the way the stories are disjointed from each other, but with free form nature of how you do each chapter, accounting for every possible combination of parties for every story event would have been damn near impossible. You'd have to start with the same character and meet everyone in a linear fashion for the story to work the way everyone wanted.

That said, dungeon designs and actual chapter structure are pretty repetitious. It will always be: go to town -> be presented with plot device -> use path action to progress -> go through a short, linear dungeon area -> boss

Dont neglect the sidequests, btw. That's one of the only ways to get stat boosting nuts
