Is Affluenza a reasonable defence in court?

I wouldnt be totally opposed to it being a consideration in a reduced sentence provided two things happen:

1) the culprit is forced into a mandatory, in-patient, mental rehabilition program for no shorter than the length of what would have been a jail sentence

2) recognizing that the parents had crippled this person to the point that they are incapable of holding themselves accountable (because thats part of the affluenza argument, after all), hold them criminally liable.

But I doubt either of those would happen so...


Pretty much though I dunno if I fully agree with all of the first thing.
