How can my parcel be out for delivery from location then two hours later be sorted wrong at another location?
A garbage pod!? It's a smegging garbage pod!
Because new hires
Who can't read apparently.

means they didn't catch it right, and they just marked it delivered unknowingly

source: i used to work in a UPS warehouse

it's a mistake, and they generally don't happen often. it sucks but you should get your package eventually.
Yea eventually when it should of been delivered today and was marked as out for delivery for some reason. and thr should doesn't feel me with hope either.

yeah it actually sucks

it also depends on where it got sorted to

if it was sorted to a bigger hub near you, then it could be just a few more days

if it got into any of the flight trailers, it'll be two weeks
Am in the UK and it's scheduled delivery is today which apparently might still happen but yea UPS have been fine but then nope they fuck it up lol.

ohhh idk how it all works there
but you have much less land to cover so i would expect it either LATER today or, at worst, a few days
Just annoys me they can;t just say so yea one our guys can't read and were trying to sort it but nope they have to be vague lol. Thanks for the info anyway ^5.

it really doesn't happen often

they are very anal about not mis-sorting things
it does happen sometimes though, and it sucks you were the one

you'd expect it to happen more often when there's like 24k packages moving through a facility
That is true and it seems just my luck lol.

You don't need to read, you have a scanner that tells you if it's good or not. Sometimes the label is fucked and it won't scan so people in a hurry who aren't familiar with the reads will just say "fuck it" and throw it in. Or people walking around at the end of the shift will think a package left outside the trailer is supposed to go and will throw it in as a courtesy when it was actually left out because it doesn't go. Shit like that.
So basically someone was careless... ah well.

They almost always come down to a combination of unfamiliarity, miscommunication, and (most importantly) being rushed by superiors.

But yeah they really don't happen very often. Like in my work area it would be like 2 per 15,000. But when it's a small package it's much more likely to be missorted because multiples of them grouped together in nylon bags, so when one of those bags goes to the wrong place they all do. The bagging process is also automated so it actually ends up making more mistakes than humans. It'll occasionally throw the wrong stuff into a bag even if the bag label tells the loader it's all good to go.

i will honestly say it almost always is a genuine mistake

like it was obstructed from view or someone just placed it in a trailer without double checking
