Bush Doctrine on preemptive retaliation.
What if there was a middle ground where only semi-automatic/burst/full-auto had to be turned over and not say double barrels or bolt actions?

For the sake of this topic, its all guns.
By the way, I own a WW2 era Mosin Nagant bolt action rifle that is considered an assault weapon and banned in some states due to it being equipped with a bayonet stock.

I don't own any guns but I would probably want to leave the country.
And go where?
Registration = Confiscation
I wont register my guns, nor hand them over.

How are they the same thing? Also isn't every gun you buy legally registered already?
I honestly wouldn't give a shit. I didn't ask for my gun, I don't use my gun, and I don't need it. It makes my wife uncomfortable just having it in the house.

When you make a list of guns, owners and locations, you bet your ass they're going to use them.
Also, they're only registered if you provide your social security during the background check.
Cut the conspiracy crap. You're on more lists than you can count anyways. I fail to see why people with weapons shouldn't be.
I'm completely against confiscation, mind you, but a registry? No problem.

It's not considered an assault weapon anywhere because it's a bolt action rifle.

So, to exercise my right to defend myself, I must give up my right to privacy?
You're not giving up any kind of privacy. Do you do personal things with a gun that you don't feel comfortable with people knowing? I really don't see the issue here with guns being registered. It's different than being concerned with surveillance or personal data.

It's the same fucking thing. What right do you or the government have to be able to google me and see what I own?

Should LGBT people also have to be documented in case someone gets a sexually transmitted disease?
The hell kind of strawman is that? darkjedilink posted...

It's not the same thing at all. It's knowing you have a gun and that's literally it.

Do you seriously believe a list of all items and their respective owners won't be used to track them down? You realize Nazi Germany says otherwise, particularity when they used their census data to assist them.

Me personally? I don't. What's wrong with the government having that information though? They have car information already among other things.

It's like they don't know anything about history.
If the US ever got to that insane state, you'd have a hell of a lot more to worry about than if the government knew you had weapons or not.
Also I find it particularly funny that Trump supporters are using the Nazi Germany comparison to support their argument after constantly whining about others doing the same
