Can someone explain this to me? (Lifetime odds of dying to various maladies)

Odds seem completely wrong.

Theres no way, glancing at the math, that theres a 1:315 odds in being murdered by a gun in your lifetime.

In 2013 the FBI reported 8454 homicides by firearm. Thats total. Even if you assume there was twice the amount unreported, the odds are nowhere close.
