Why no option for older?
hey tc what about the requirement that you be born in the u.s.? that seems more unreasonable than the 35 y.o. requirment

Why?
It says natural-born citizen. That means its someone who was a citizen the moment they were born. Why should we, or any other country, have a non-citizen or foreign citizen be the leader of said country?

Yes, someone who was born in another country and moved here as a child is totally not an American and grossly unqualified, but the manbaby reality show star is.
35-65 should be the age range tbh. Maybe cap it at 70.
And thats the age for when youre elected. Youre not immediately kicked out if you hit the cap, you just cant get re-elected.
i think that something like 30 years you have been an american citizen is good enough, isn't that how it is for congressmen?

If they're the best candidate for the job, it shouldn't matter where they were born.
Your stance just seems xenophobic.

Because there's multiple countries that legitimately don't have that requirement. Canada and Australia are two of them.

It's at least 35 or under 35. What if someone feels 35 is too young and the starting age should be higher? Like 45 minimum?

You're right.. I should have included an alternative age bracket.
What age requirements do you think should be present?
45
experience, minimum 25+ years.

You do realize you're saying they can only ever work in government (from 20 y/o) to have your required experience?
I mean I agree with the rest of your post, and your intent, but I think your math is off.
Maybe like... 20 years of experience.
the minimum is fine
there needs to be a maximum

I feel like 45 for a number of reasons.
Primarily though, running an entire nation is a massive responsibility, I mean tremendous. I myself, i'm 36, and a lot of people I know, hang out with, and talk to are around my age bracket. I wouldn't trust myself, along with any of those others to run a country, It still seems too young to me. I think a chain of command and working your way up should be a requirement also, how someone like Trump, a man who isn't a politician, can just step in and take over the nation because he was nominated and absurdly voted for.
I think actual political experience, a mayor, senator, governor, etc should be an absolute requirement with a set amount of time and experience, minimum 25+ years.
What happened during this election is like they take the Walmart district manager, and say "Here you go, you are the new president of the Chicago Bulls. We don't care that your experience doesn't apply to this position, or that you really don't know much about basketball, a lot of people said you might do a good job, so here you go! Have at it."
It's kind of mind blowing if you put it into perspective.

I can see where you're coming from, but the whole point of elections is for the people electing someone they feel will serve them best. If they are able achieve the office of presidency, they're qualified---It's not an easy task.
I haven't looked it up, but I have a feeling the original founding fathers didn't intend or want to have career politicians.
