31 y/o Liu Xiang, now retired, became a huge star when he won a medal..and Gold no less at running the 110m hurdles in Athens..and although he flopped in the subsequent olympics, including the one in his country, he still remained a fan favourite for being the only asian to have ever won a medal in athletics which is dominated by african runners.
