Do you think they do? I've heard some people say they think that they...

....do

They test if you're academically prepared for college

At least, that's the intent

IQ does correlate to these scores, but who knows what proportion of that correlation is actually due to a relationship between them and intelligence.

Maybe decades ago when nobody prepared for these tests and they were kind of new.

Now theyre simply tests that measure how good you are at test taking and how well you have prepared for the SAT or whatever.

I have heard of rich kids that literally take off a year to go through this course several times:

Imagine having a private SAT tutor too, some people do it. Somebody like that would probably do better than a legit smart guy whos taking the test for the first time and has to work a part time job too.

i kinda agree with this, but a lot of people will just completely say this is false, probably most

why do you think most people just flat out deny it though?

Deny what exactly?

I don't think many people do. IQ and intelligence are two separate things, and most people rightfully question the relationship between intelligence and standardized tests.

how good you are at test taking

I'd say there's intelligence involved in being a good test taker. There's some skill in picking up patterns in the questions on tests. That's not to say that poor test takers aren't smart; they could still be smart in different areas.
