besides the thieves.
my co workers cousin went on holidays and left his car at my co-workers house.
while at work my coworkers house got broken into and robbed. including his cousins car which was later found burned and abandoned somewhere.
insurance doesn't want to pay up because the car wasn't stored at the listed address (at coworkers cousin's home)
now my co worker and his cousin are feuding becuase his cousin feels he should pay for the car. Am I wrong thinking his cousin is in the wrong and should stfu and has no right to be demanding money for the car that he decided to store somewhere else while he was away.
I mean, if he had the car stored in his own garage while he was gone then insurance would pay up for it. but he decided to leave it somewhere else because I'm guessing he was scared that it would be fucked with at his home while gone.
This is exactly why I am against (many forms of) insurance - you think you're covered but in reality you're not.
I know that when you park a car at a friend's place, there is usually an unspoken agreement that because the friend is looking after the car, they are responsible for it. However, to expect that friend to be liable for any unforeseen financial costs is unfair to that friend, who is only doing you a favour because you imposed upon them. Maybe if the co-worker paid real money upfront, he would have a reasonable expectation for reimbursement.

This kind of got me thinking. my car is listed as stored in a garage at night but in reality I leave it on my driveway.
can "they" weasel out of payment if my car is stolen? (there is enough space in my garage for a car, it's just that the roller door is manual so I can't be fucked getting out. opening it. get back it to park it. then get back out and close the roller)
Are you seriously asking this in your own topic?
Who is they ??
If you have insurance, use it. His fault for not wanting to use what he literally pays for.

i can agree with insurance companies statement, they will gladly take money. but when it comes time to pay out. they won't give a **** even if covered under "policy".
if it's found that you don't actually leave it in there, then yeah they might fuck you over for it

why what's wrong with that?
Because you are asking if the situation you are literally describing in your OP is possible.
