It's alright. You can tell it was starting to bleed into the catastrophe of bad game that was Other M, but there's still enough Retro Studios in there to make it decent.
There is no problem that can't be solved by applying more yuri to it.

Yes you should play it
I played it for a few hours. It isnt the same as 1, as it focuses more on action, but that isnt bad. It also has plenty of puzzles and exploration. I just dont feel it is an all time classic like the first one.

I keep hearing its a lot more linear than the first 2

I'm happy any time a series makes the jump from 2D to 3D successfully. If people like it, sequels are a grand idea.

Though if it's taking steps back, shit needs to be done.

It is.
Its not a bad game, but the previous two were much better.

This is really the best way to describe it
Turok 2 is much more linear than the first and people seem to praise that one as better. It all depends on what you like.

I think Im gonna take a stab at 3. I beat the first 2 in a row so I was MetroidD out for a while.

Im also trying to complete Samus Returns.

I get that the graphics were amazing for N64 and the weapons were better, but I don't want as many corridors. You know your worries are mostly ahead and behind. In the first one, knowing an enemy can come from any direction while you're in an open field was quite unnerving to me as a kid.

And yeah the atmosphere for the Blind Ones level fucked with my head, too. I love Turok 2 but I prefer the first.
I DO NOT like being forced to play with the Wiimote. I don't understand why they couldn't accommodate for the GC controller.

That said I couldn't finish the game due to the above. But what I played outside of the controllers I liked fairly well. It felt more like a Halo game.

Tried doing a no cheat run a couple years ago and it was almost impossible for me lol. Got too frustrating

Ill be honest with you, I loved playing the prime games with a wiimote. But thats also because they were much easier, and I suck

I did it once and that was enough. Now when I play it, I pick and choose what I turn on and off. I won't legitimately get the chronoscepter again.

It's a matter of what you get used to. I played RE4 on Gamecube first and suck at playing it on Wii when it SHOULD be easier.

I tried doing it a few times with infinite ammo, just because for some reason, ammo doesnt regenerate in that game. If you go to crazy with shooting, you end up fucking yourself.

I'll agree because I'm the exact opposite. I played RE4 first on the Wii and could never play the original or any port due to controls.

Prime 3's still a really good game but it's much more linear. It's also pretty easy to get 100% items in the game as a result as you can unlock map upgrades that pinpoint item locations (and can also mark certain parts of the map for later).

Oddly enough, the game has a difficulty spike towards the beginning. It's because of the new power you're given that drains energy tanks when used, and you have to use it a bunch as the enemies you face spam the same power making them near-impervious to regular attacks. You don't have enough Energy Tanks to spare because of that so it really becomes a battle for survival. Especially in the hardest difficulty.

How dare you compare that dumpster fire to MP3.

Because the Wiimote was the perfect controller for the series and I can't go back to the GC controller.

The option should have been there. I'm no developer but it doesn't seem like an impossible option to have when the two previous entries used the GC controller and the GC controller can be used on the Wii for even N64 games on the VC.

Easy. Sakamoto went more heavy handed on MP3, which is all the interrupting dialogue. Retro Studios was there to make the game portion of the game good.

Fuck that noise. Corruption is where Nintendo started dumbing it down in hopes of capturing the interest of the casual crowd at the expense of the real fanbase.
