People are saying you become the state's property once you sign those marriage papers meaning she gets a portion of your income (most of the time its half) if either party divorces.

Alimony is hard to get these days, there has to be a huge discretion in incomes or one partner not working at all. Now child support on the other hand, yes dudes get bent the fuck over.

If you're a guy the only reason to get married (as opposed to having a long-term relationship) is if she's rich or from a wealthy family.

Which is unfortunate because that is pure greed.
