I didn't even know they made a sequel. That's awesome!
Edit: Oh wait, I looked at the reviews. Nah.
In their defense, how the fuck are you supposed to follow-up Samuel L Jackson and the church scene
Opening scene was pretty great. Then the cool female Kingsman/best friend to the MC suddenly diedand the movie kept going downhill from there.
...it's on HBO Go? I'm looking right now and I can't find it. I never saw it and I loved the first, so I always wanted to check it out. I have HBO but I can't seem to find it in their movie library, on the HBO Go website. Maybe it isn't in my region (North America)?

Dude... mark your spoilers next time please?

Also, it had blatant anti-drug message which was cringey.
It had good action, but the plot was dumb.

Oh I see, well I didn't read your spoiler text for obvious reasons lol. Don't really see why you put that in spoiler tags?
I came in this topic to see more opinions about the movie because I've seen very mixed reactions to the movie when it came out and wanted to see what CE thought of it. I expected spoilers to be tagged appropriately since the topic title didn't announce there would be any (in which case I wouldn't have entered the topic), which is what the normal rules are regarding spoilers in general, at least that's what I thought they were. But instead, the wrong things were spoiler tagged and actual movie spoilers weren't lmao
To be fair, it was following up the first which also featured a villain with an extreme solution to a global and politicized problem.

Yeah I'll admit to not having spoilers in the title because of character space limits
But to be fair, the part that got spoiled for you is quite inconsequential; it happens early on and you'll have forgotten about it in the next 5 minutes.

It wasn't as much that as it was shit like
The U.S. president being fine with letting every person who does drugs die because they're scum or a pot-smoker having a revelation to "never touch that stuff" again after the antidote gets released.

I did like that the nutjob villain's plan would have failed because the president was a bigger asshole than she was. But I agree that the way they did it and especially the end with him being impeached was very on-the-nose.
